Erin Swisher, LMSW

Erin is a recent graduate of Binghamton University. She earned her Masters Degree in Social Work, preceded by her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She brings rich experiences from several different areas of the social services field. Prior to her internship with Children and Family Counseling Services, she completed an internship at Newark Valley Middle School. During this internship, Erin managed a caseload of students she met with weekly and facilitated a lunch group focused on enhancing social-emotional learning skills. At her internship with Children and Family Counseling Services, Erin met with kids and families for therapy on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis. Additionally, she completed training focused on working with grief and worked directly with grieving clients. Prior to her internships, Erin was employed by the Safe Harbor Program that serves at-risk youth. Erin brings a fun and creative approach to the therapy space, primarily using play and art-based methods, with traditional talk therapy when helpful. Erin currently has a special interest in working with kids who are processing grief, as well as in continuing to grow her play therapy practice with kids experiencing a variety of concerns. She hopes to become a Registered Play Therapist in the future.

Erin is currently accepting new clients who are between the ages of 5 and 21. She is currently available Mondays through Thursdays from 10 am to 4 pm. 

Additionally, Erin currently accepts private pay and will be able to accept Excellus and Headway in the near future.
